Anna Louise Simpson
Corporate lawyer. Entrepreneur. Artist. Founder of RUTHVEN AI.

Anna Louise Simpson is the founder of RUTHVEN AI, developing asset intelligence for people and AI agents.
A former corporate lawyer, she built Mama Tea and Simpsons Tea, securing customers including Waitrose, Tesco and Marriott, and winning a marketing award for Simpsons Tea.
Working as Miss AL Simpson, she has been tokenising her artwork since 2019. Her experience creating and managing an extensive digital archive led her to the question behind RUTHVEN: what is this asset, where did it come from, and what evidence supports its record?
A foundation in companies, contracts and evidence.
A University of Glasgow graduate, Anna Louise began her career as a corporate lawyer.
Her legal training informs the way she approaches RUTHVEN: distinguish a claim from its supporting evidence, make the source visible, and be clear about what remains uncertain.
As people and AI agents increasingly interact with digital assets, those distinctions matter. Records need to be understandable, traceable and open to examination.
Built brands. Won major customers.
Anna Louise built Mama Tea and Simpsons Tea, winning business from customers including Waitrose, Tesco and Marriott. Simpsons Tea also received a marketing award.
Her experience spans product development, branding, supplier relationships and selling to major retailers and hospitality companies. She understands the practical work of taking an idea to market: developing a product, securing customers and delivering on commitments.
She brings that commercial experience to RUTHVEN alongside her legal background and knowledge of digital assets.
International recognition. Experience built through practice.
As Miss AL Simpson, Anna Louise is an early cryptoartist whose practice brings together drawing, collage, artificial intelligence, film and blockchain. She has been tokenising her work since 2019 and has exhibited cryptoart across major international cities.
In 2022, she was named to NFT Now’s NFT100. Her work was included in CryptOGs: The Pioneers of NFT Art at Bonhams, London, in 2021. In February 2025, her AI film Les Drones de la Banlieue sold in Sotheby’s Contemporary Discoveries sale in New York.
Her practice has expanded into collections and creative worlds including Soul Brds, Interface, Diamond Drones, Porcelain Androids and Paper Trail.
Building these projects gave her direct experience of the records surrounding digital assets: contracts, token identifiers, media files, metadata, source materials and ownership histories. Keeping those connections accessible and understandable became an increasingly important part of caring for the work.

RUTHVEN began with a problem in her own archive.
As the archive grew, apparently simple questions became harder to answer.
Which files belong to this work? Where are they stored? Do the links still resolve? How does a new creation relate to its sources? What can someone independently verify?
Anna Louise began building the system she needed.
Founded in Edinburgh in 2026, RUTHVEN AI LIMITED is developing an asset intelligence system that connects assets with their identity, origins and supporting evidence. Its records are designed to be accessible to both people and AI agents.
In the same year, the Digital Assets (Scotland) Act 2026 confirmed that qualifying digital assets are property in Scots law.
Its first live deployment is PAPER TRAIL, a collection of 4,000 artworks, each carrying a RUTHVEN Origin Passport recording its sources and creation history.
In October 2026, Anna Louise filed a UK patent application titled Verification of Asset Records, naming her as inventor. The application is pending.
Her archive provided the starting point. Her wider ambition is to help creators, businesses and the systems acting on their behalf understand and manage assets through clear, traceable records.
